How to get to Vava'u
1. By Plane
Fly to Vava’u Island from the main island of Tonga (Tongatapu) on our Domestic Flight – Lulutai Airline.
You will be flying from Fua’amotu Domestic Airport (Tongatapu) to Lupepau’u Airport (Vava’u).

If you’ve just arrived to Tonga, there are transfers from Fua’amotu International Airport to The Domestic Airport by taxi (usually parked outside airport depending on ETA, unless otherwise arranged.
Just few minutes away, however, you would require a vehicle to get there OR some likes the long walk if you have plenty of time and less luggage to carry, approx 2km.
In case at the last resort, you’re totally stuck. Ask the locals or Airport staff and they would be happy to assist you.
2. By Sea
The Wharf is located near Nuku’alofa Town Centre – named Queen Salote Wharf – about 30km away or 20 mins drive.
Much cheaper and cost effective but takes a lot longer and can be rough if you’re not a sea fan.
